Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa hosts incentives, trade shows, and conference groups of up to 2,000 beside nearly a quarter mile of private south Florida beach. Just ten minutes from the airport, the AAA four-diamond property holds court in the exclusive Harbor Beach district of Fort Lauderdale.
Wide windows in the two-story atrium lobby showcase the beach and Atlantic beyond, while intense tropical colors accent the interior— a theme that continues in the 30,000 square feet of meeting space.
The largest events unfold in the 14,900-square-foot Grand Ballroom and the 8,030-square-foot Caribbean Ballroom. Both feature state-of-the-art sound and light systems supported by a full-service audiovisual department. Three boardrooms and seven breakout rooms of various shapes and sizes host groups of 12 to 110. On the horizon: a new 10,000-square foot oceanfront ballroom.
Outdoor festivities take place on terraces totaling 20,000 square feet or on the long sweep of beach, a popular setting for team-building activities, theme parties, and bonfires. For group events, the staff can even furnish giant logos sculpted and painted in the sand.
Following completion of a $25-million renovation in 2007, the 615 new guest rooms and 35 suites place the emphasis on comfort, beginning with Marriott’s multi-layered Revive bedding. Contemporary artwork, crown molding, rich fabrics, and Italian marble and polished granite baths accompany conveniences such as 32-inch flat-screen TVs, high-speed Internet access, cordless phones with voice-mail, and well-lit work desks. Nearly every room comes with a balcony for private views of the Florida sunrise or sunset.
Delegates with time between sessions often head for the beach, where they can lounge in 50 oceanfront cabanas or embark on adventures in parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, catamaran sailing, wave running, and surfing. An 8,000-square-foot lagoon-style pool has its share of fans, as do four tennis courts and a 20,000-square-foot spa with a fitness center, a motion studio, and 18 treatment rooms.
The resort makes it easy for business guests to bring along their children. Beachside Buddies, a supervised program of nature walks, swimming, scavenger hunts, and games, keeps kids 5 to 12 happily engaged throughout the day.
With seven restaurants and lounges—including 3030 Ocean, a seafood lover’s nirvana—and easy access to city shopping and nightlife, the resort supplies everything needed for a memorable meeting on the south Florida coast.
