When groups come to Williamsburg, Virginia, for business, Kingsmill Resort & Spa sends them home with a sense of history and a passion for excellence. The resort presides over 2,900 acres of woodland first settled in 1617. Participants enjoy world-class amenities the first colonists scarcely could have imagined.
Meetings of 10 to 500 people take place in 16,000 square feet of award-winning facilities. On the main building’s Conference Center level, seven IACC-certified rooms of up to 2,010 square feet cater to groups of up to 150. All feature soundproofing, ergonomic chairs, state-of-the-art audiovisuals, and outdoor areas. During every meeting, a concierge stands by to photocopy, deliver messages, fax, or perform other support services, while two additional rooms provide continuous food and beverage service for breaks at any time.
In the Resort Center, the larger of two ballrooms measures 6,050 square feet. It holds receptions for up to 600, theater-style events for 570, banquets for 450, or divides into as many as four spaces for breakouts. Whether large or small, nearly all 16 of the meeting rooms feature panoramic views of the historic James River or the picturesque resort.
Extraordinary service adds the seamless touch to every event. A professional conference manager, for instance, serves as the primary contact throughout a meeting’s conception and implementation periods. When the attendees arrive, the manager stays in daily contact and works with the Destination Services Team to meet every need, whether for an off-site party at Busch Gardens Europe, a team-building event, or finding a tie to replace one left at home.
Knowing that the most productive meetings strike a perfect balance between concentration and relaxation, the resort offers 425 villa-style guest rooms and suites—most with kitchens, roomy living and dining areas, fireplaces, and decks. Executive groups seeking the utmost in privacy may book one or two homes in the Executive Compound. Both provide full kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms with fireplaces, up to four bedrooms, and 24-hour butler service. The largest includes a boardroom holding up to 12 delegates, an LCD projector, and a workstation with PC, printer, and fax.
For most groups, intensely focused sessions earn time on the three 18-hole championship golf courses or at the Spa at Kingsmill. Further rewards include formal or casual dining at the resort’s six restaurants and lounges, games on the Tennis Center’s 15 courts, workouts in the Sports Club’s gym or pools, and activities at the marina. As an off-site incentive, complimentary transportation leads to nearby Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and Colonial Williamsburg.
