Longboat Key Club and Resort - Longboat Key, Florida, USA

Corporate executives feel right at home at the Longboat Key Club and Resort. The only AAA Four Diamond Award winner in Sarasota County neighbors million dollar homes on Longboat Key, a Florida Gulf Coast island just eight miles via causeway from Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport.

An air of exclusivity and a doting staff enhance every stay at the resort, where 12,000 square feet of meeting facilities, upscale lodgings, a white-sand beach, a new spa, and 45 holes of championship golf kick off the attractions.

Most meetings gather at the Resort Center. Its main venue, the John Ringling Room, hosts up to 175 for banquets or 250 for seminars or receptions in 2,948 square feet of space. A second room, the library, accommodates 10 around a fixed boardroom table. Two additional meeting suites, measuring 437 square feet each, wait in a neighboring building.

The beach lies just steps away from both buildings. It offers an abundance of space—and sand—for such team-building exercises as volleyball tournaments and sand-castle contests.

Other group activities focus on the property’s extensive golf facilities, which include 45 holes of championship play and a golf school. Thirty-eight Har-Tru tennis courts open additional possibilities for friendly competition.

Banquets often take place in restaurants at the Islandside and Harbourside Clubhouses, where groups dine with golf-course views. Planners may reserve the Spike n’ Tees restaurant and adjoining deck at Islandside, or the Harbourside Dining Room for up to 250 guests. The pool deck and beach provide other attractive options.

While delegates participate in meetings or team building activities, their family members stay happily engaged with on-site recreation and off-site excursions. At home they can visit the fitness center, pool, Jacuzzi, and the new Island House Spa. Or the conference services staff can arrange day trips to such nearby attractions as the 100 boutiques of St. Armands Circle, the Mote Marine Aquarium, and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.

Following a day of team building, meetings, or exploration, everyone appreciates the comforts of home found in the 216 spacious accommodations. All come with private balconies and golf course, lagoon, or ocean views. Even standard guest rooms furnish wet bars, refrigerators with ice-makers, and microwave ovens.

Many organizations return to Longboat Key Club and Resort year after year, drawn back by the friendly elegance and efficiency of a country club and the charm of a beach-front island resort.
