Five championship golf courses make PGA National Resort and Spa a natural for golf-loving groups. Major renovations, slated for completion this year, and a history of hosting more PGA tournaments than any resort in the country make it a sure bet for meeting planners as well. The resort’s 25-year history of high-profile events, including the PGA tour’s Honda Classic, keeps the staff and facilities at the top of their game.
Golf often figures prominently in meeting agendas, whether in serious tournaments or friendly competitions, from lessons at the Golf Digest Golf Academy to Nite Lite putting contests.
Alternative recreation starts with visits to the 40,000-square-foot-spa and its legendary Waters of the World, a series of outdoor mineral pools using salts imported from around the globe. The Health & Racquet Club features 19 Har-Tru tennis courts plus a lap pool, fitness studios, and separate training areas with state-of-the-art equipment.
When time comes for business, groups convene in a self-contained, newly renovated conference wing of 23 rooms. The PGA Grand Ballroom claims the lion’s share of space. At 9,990 square feet, it holds up to 1,000 guests or 65 exhibit booths. A smaller alternative, the 4,410- square-foot British Open Ballroom, accommodates up to 510 for receptions. Other favorite sites include the Congressional Room—a tiered auditorium that seats 50—the wood-paneled Executive Board Room, and the new Social Ballroom and outdoor Pavilion.
While the new Business Concierge Center attends to office needs and more off the lobby, experienced conference advisors assist with everything from color schemes for events to meeting setups. Behind the scenes, the banquet staff anticipates every need to ensure superb food, artful presentation, and a festive atmosphere for every party.
The dining choices extend to eight restaurants and lounges—plus room service. A completely redesigned lobby bar, coffee cafe, poolside sports bar, and two brand-new restaurants promise exciting new menus and environments for the near future.
At the end of the day, participants retire to a choice of 339 newly renovated guest rooms. Each features a private balcony or terrace, Asian maple wood furnishings, a granite and marble bathroom, and a flat-screen TV.
For executives with plans to entertain, each of 50 two-bedroom cottages furnishes a large living room, two complete baths, and a fully equipped kitchen. Standard amenities in every category include wireless Internet access, in-room safes, fluffy robes, and Signature Spa bath products.
Whether groups come for the golf, the spa, the food, or the meeting expertise, they all end up winners at PGA National.
