Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Resort & Spa represents the heights of hospitality for individuals, as recognized by Condé Nast Traveler’s 2006 Gold List and Readers’ Choice Awards. At the same time, the 28-acre seaside retreat offers one of the largest meeting facilities in Los Cabos, spanning over 18,000 square feet and hosting groups of up to 1,600.
The resort captures the feel of a Mexican village with its cobblestone lanes winding past quaint placitas, fountains, restaurants, and shops. The convention center occupies an enclave of its own. Eight separate function rooms include the 12,294- square-foot Hacienda Ballroom, divisible by three and with an expansive foyer; the 3,217-square-foot Arcos Room, also divisible by three and with its own foyer; and the 1,072-square-foot Cristal Room for more intimate gatherings of up to 80.
All eight rooms supply sophisticated support services and audiovisual equipment plus wired and wireless Internet access. Stateof- the-art technology equips the full-service business center as well.
Banquets and receptions for up to 300 draw on a host of outdoor venues, from the pool area to the Tequila Terrace to the Palapa Fiesta. At the resort’s two fine-dining restaurants— De Cortez for meat and seafood and Pitahayas for Pacific Rim cuisine—Executive Chef Stefan Bunning creates fresh interpretations of Mexican flavors. A patio restaurant and snack bar—plus tequila, sports, and poolside bars—round out the food and beverage options.
Golf forms a vital part of most meeting itineraries thanks to two celebrated courses within striking distance: the Jack Nicklaus–designed Ocean Course and the Tom Weiskopf–designed Desert Course. Four additional world-class layouts wait just a short distance away. Attendees in need of pampering indulge at the resort’s 11,000-square-foot Cactus Spa, which features hydrotherapy of all kinds, beachfront treatment rooms, and European-style body wraps utilizing herbs and oils.
Sun worshippers gather around the giant thatched-roof palapa that presides over three tiered pools and one of the best swimming beaches in Los Cabos. Other recreational options range from hiking, ATV tours, horseback riding, water sports, deep-sea fishing, and whale watching to aerobics, yoga, exercise machines, and free-weight workouts at the fitness center.
After a long day of work, play, and rejuvenation, attendees retreat to the choice of 270 rooms and suites, all joined by private terraces overlooking the sea, the fairways, or lush gardens. Top-flight amenities include Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds, Jacuzzi tubs, high-speed Internet access, three phones, satellite TV, 24-hour room service, and the devoted attention of a friendly, caring staff.
